Screens

Window screen replacement, mesh and frame

Window screen replacement is the mesh, the spline, and sometimes the frame. It is the right call when insects are the problem and the glass is fine. It is the wrong call when the pane is broken or the sash no longer locks.

What we rebuild

Standard half-screens on double-hungs, full screens on sliders, and interior screens on casements and awnings. Frames that have pulled apart at the corner get a new frame, not another season of tape. Pet mesh and a tighter standard mesh are both available; the tradeoff is airflow versus strength, and we will describe it in plain language rather than a brand slogan.

Sliding window screen replacement is mostly a square frame that has to sit in a tired track. If the track itself is crushed, a new screen will still jump off. That is when we talk about the window, not only the mesh.

Measuring

Screens are ordered to the hardware, not to a guess from the room. Bring nothing to the form except the count and the style if you know it. We measure. Custom shapes and frames with a crossbar are noted so the new screen matches the way the old one was lifted out.

Questions we hear on this work

Can you replace the mesh in my old frame?

Yes, when the frame is still square and the corners hold. A bent frame gets replaced.

Do new windows include screens?

On a replacement or installation order, yes, we specify the screens with the units. This page is for screens alone.

Is a door screen the same visit?

It can be, if you tell us. The door screen is priced from the door page’s scope, not as a window half-screen.

Share the building’s Manitoba postal code and which openings you want replaced. We will confirm whether the visit is for replacement, a new opening, or glass-only repair. The visit is charged; we do not publish that price here.
