Process

How a replacement project actually runs

Five steps. The home page shows the names. This page says what happens in each one, and what we need from you.

1. Request an estimate

Send your name, email, phone, postal code, the service, and a short description through the estimate form, or call. Tell us how many openings, which floor, and whether anything is broken and open to the weather. That is enough to judge whether we can schedule a paid site visit. It is not a quote, and it is not a free measure.

2. Consultation and measurements

We look at the frame, the sill, the swing or the operation, and the condition of the surrounding finish. Width and height are recorded in more than one place because openings are rarely square. Basement bedrooms get an egress conversation before a small hopper is ordered again. You get a recommendation: repair the glass, replace the unit, or rebuild the opening.

3. Product selection

You choose operation, frame material, colour, glass package, and hardware from options that fit what we measured. Lead time is part of the choice. A stock slider and a custom entry with decorative glass do not share a calendar. We do not start an order on a verbal “sounds fine” if the written scope is still open.

4. Professional installation

The old unit comes out, the opening is checked again, and the new unit is set, fastened, insulated, and sealed. Interior trim is handled as the quote described — saved, or replaced. Floors and furniture in the work area are protected. If we open a wall and find rot the measure could not see, we stop and show you before the scope grows.

5. Final inspection

Locks, cranks, screens, thresholds, and the exterior joints are checked with you. You get the care notes that belong to the product you bought: what to clean with, and what not to hang on a closer. Touch-ups that are ours are listed before we leave, not left as a surprise call.

What can change the schedule

  • Custom sizes and decorative glass.
  • Permits, especially for egress and some commercial entrances.
  • Weather that would make a flashing day dishonest.
  • A wall that is wetter than the exterior suggested.

Service regions are on service areas. Product boundaries are on services.

Questions we hear on this work

Is the estimate a commitment to order?

No. The measure and the written scope come first. You order when you accept that scope.

Do I need to be home?

Yes for the measure and the walkthrough. During installation, an adult who can make a decision about an unexpected discovery should be reachable.

Request a measured estimate

Share the building’s Manitoba postal code and which openings you want replaced. We will confirm whether the visit is for replacement, a new opening, or glass-only repair. The visit is charged; we do not publish that price here.
