Replacement means the opening is already there. Installation means a new opening or a wall that has to be rebuilt around the door. Entry doors are the main arrival. Exterior doors are the other weather-facing doors. Patio and sliding doors are the wide glass openings. Storm and screen doors are the seasonal layer in front of them.

Door replacement
A new door in an opening that already exists, including the frame when the frame is done.

Door installation
New openings, widened openings, and pre-hung units set into rebuilt framing.

Entry doors
The front door: slab or system, glass, sidelights, and hardware.

Exterior doors
Side, rear, and other doors that take weather but are not the formal entrance.

Patio and sliding doors
Sliding glass and hinged patio doors, tracks, and panels.

Storm and screen doors
The outer door and the sliding screen panel, not the primary slab.
Questions we hear on this work
Should I replace the door and the windows together?
If both are failing, one measure visit is enough. They stay as separate lines on the quote so a patio door is not priced like a bedroom window.
Do you sell a door without installing it?
This practice is built around supply and installation. A supply-only slab is not the usual request, and we will say if it is outside what we are scheduling.
